ABOUT ME
I am an Oregon artist drawing my ideas and inspiration from the beautiful landscapes, coast and ocean, flora and fauna, and natural wildlife that see in my travels around the Northwest, Southwest, and across the United States.
My eye is drawn to edges, curves, the angularities and then, moves on to the light and shadows in the "picture" I see. I love rich brilliant colors contrasted with the subtlety of soft hues. My style is realistic. Whatever speaks to my spirit and artist's eye becomes my focus. I paint a variety of subjects: from horses, animals, wildlife, and birds to waterways, land and seascapes, from buildings, barns, lighthouses, and city scenes to people, flowers, and still life. I enjoy painting in my home and with fellow artists. Meeting together several times a month with my WOW (Women of Watercolor) friends provides an wonderful opportunity to share ideas and art information, see different techniques and styles, and provide and receive constructive critiques on our paintings. We greatly benefit from such a strong and supportive group. As an instructor, I love teaching and working with fellow artists, whether budding, flowering or established. To see the spark of excitement and light of understanding while learning new techniques, developing skills, and adding to their art knowledge is the greatest of rewards. Workshops range from painting mountain vistas, vineyards, seascapes, or various flowers especially roses to creating your artist website. I am a member of Women of Watercolor Guild of Artists (WOW), the Watercolor Society of Oregon (WSO), and the Oregon Society of Artists (OSA). |
